Description
Geographic Range: Endemic to a tributary of the Rio Tapajós in Brazil, located in the region of Igarapé.
Diet: D. warzeli is omnivorous by nature. In the wild, they graze on small invertebrates and plant matter. In the aquarium, they will readily accept most high quality prepared foods, such as spirulina flakes or sinking pellets. For the best quality and condition, frozen foods such as brine shrimp, spirulina brine shrimp, and daphnia should be offered regularly as well.

Minimum Tank Size: 15 Gallons for a group of 6
Temperament: Peaceful with tankmates

Hardness: Prefers softer water (less that 1dH) but can tolerate up to 8dH safely

General Notes: Ideally kept as a pair or small group (6 or more). Prefers a dimly lit, well planted aquarium with plenty of hiding places and a sand substrate. Prefers VERY acidic water for breeding conditions- can tolerate up to 7.5 pH.
